Now...how do I explain this...? Aha well...no I didn't turn him into a Mary-Sue. I crossed over the DP world with the Avatar world.
So, how I picture it is that he is the next Avatar after Korra (or some unknown earthbender, whichever one makes more sense), and Danny's ghost form would be his Avatar state form...or something. Well, the avatar is part spirit anyways...does that make sense? Also, would he be better if he was originally a firebender or an earthbender? Personally, I'd say that he'd be a firebender. Don't know why, maybe because of his ecto blasts?
Please no hate for me making Danny like this, I made him exist in the Avatar world but instead of him not knowing about his identity until he was 14. And his ghost powers don't exist in the avatar world. They are replaced with the four elements. Oh, and don't ask about the tail. It just looks better that way I guess....
Also, this is my 700th deviation! ^^ I actually made sure that this drawing would be the 700th...

OK prepare your self for a rant
My idea as for Danny being the avatar is that he is initially an airbender with water being second nature as his mom was an airbender who also knows chi blocking (instead of her black belt karate she is a master chi blocker) and his dad being a waterbender so both come easy to him also both work well with his personality with his carefree and love of flying translated to airbending and his ability to shift and adapt himself to the situation/ how to battle his enemy working and translate well for waterbendig
Now I think earth bending would be the hardest for him not only because it naturally his most difficult it also like aang not in his character too much
Now something that I think work well and could be cool is have Danny fire be green and he invents plasma bending (as reference for his ecto blasts)
Now for other characters
Valerie fire bender
Tucker earth bender
Vlad fire bender
Jazz water bender with specialty in healing I think that works best with her personality
Maddie airbender and chi blocker
Jack water bender though I could see argument for him being earthbender and metal bender
Sam I'm torn about on one side I want her to be waterbender with plant bending but on the other I think fire is a better fit for her personality
